DA 10 Turnover P2.7M Infra Projects
Two key projects of the Department of Agriculture- Regional Field Unit ( DA-RFU 10 ) were turned over to the local government of Oroquieta City on February 7, 2012 consisting of a Farm-to-Market Road and an Agricultural Packing Center. The Farm-to-Market road costing P1.5 million with a counterpart from LGU-Oroquieta was constructed in Barangay Lower Rizal connecting Barangay Tuyabang Alto and an Agricultural Packing Center costing P1.2 million constructed and located in Barangay Canubay.
JPA Elected to BSP-Prov Exec Board
Mayor Jason P. Almonte was elected by a province wide delegates of scout masters, executives and coordinators as member of the BSP ( Boy Scouts of the Philippines ) Misamis Occidental Council Executive Board during the 2012 Annual Council Meeting held in Oroquieta Town Center on March 1, 2012. He will serve the BSP Provincial Council as Executive Board member for 3 years.
“ Bantay Kahimsog sa Kabataan” Program Launched
On the occasion of his birthday City Mayor Jason P. Almonte led the program launching of " Bantay Kahimsog sa Kabataan " a child health care campaign program of his administration in Oroquieta City on Wednesday 20 June at Oroquieta City Central Elementary School. Health kits containing toiletries and vitamins were distributed to several pupils of the said public elementary school. The launching was simultaneous with the city's feeding program as pupils enjoyed a simple but nutritive cup of porridge with egg and hot chocolate.
City Barangays Receive Brand New Computer Sets
A total of 27 brand new computer sets were distributed to different Barangays of Oroquieta City during a simple turnover ceremony in Oroquieta Town Center on 27 March 2010. The complete set is equipped with Windows 7 OS software, hardware and printer. These will be set up in the 27 Barangay offices to hasten and effectively serve local residents.
Oroquieta Bags DILG 2012 Housekeeping Award
The City of Good Life as what Oroquieta is popularly known was awarded the Seal of Good Housekeeping for complying with the Full Disclosure Policy Program of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG). This is the 2nd time Oroquieta bagged the said prestigious award being a consistent awardee and got the P20M reward. Last year the city got P3.5M as 2011 awardee.
